Sometimes a front yard doesn't need a complete overhaul - it just needs some structure. That was exactly the case here in Mason. The beds were there, the plants were there, but nothing was tying it all together or giving the yard a clean, finished edge.
We built two curved half-moon retaining walls to wrap the landscape beds out front. The stone work follows the natural shape of the beds, which gives the whole yard a much more intentional, polished look. It's the kind of detail that makes a house look like someone actually thought about the design - not just threw plants in the ground and called it a day.
Retaining wall installation like this does more than just look good. It holds your mulch and soil in place, keeps the bed edges from washing out or blurring into the lawn over time, and gives future plantings a defined home to grow into. Small investment, big impact on how the whole property reads from the street.
The curved design was a deliberate choice. Straight walls can look harsh against a traditional brick home like this one. Going with a flowing, half-moon shape softens everything and complements the existing shrubs and trees already in place. Getting that curve right takes some patience and planning, but the result speaks for itself.
This is the kind of work we genuinely enjoy doing because the change is so visible. A few courses of wall block and some fresh mulch, and suddenly the whole front of the house looks sharper and more put-together.
