Full Backyard Hardscape and Landscape Design in Indian Hill

This Indian Hill backyard had serious potential - a large, elevated property with mature trees and great bones. What it needed was a design that could tie everything together and actually make the space usable. That's exactly what we set out to do.

We worked across multiple levels here. The upper entertaining area features a curved paver patio with a dining setup and lounge seating, all wrapped by a clean metal railing that follows the natural arc of the retaining wall below. It's a naturally elevated vantage point, and we made sure the patio design took full advantage of that.

Down at the lower level, a large flagstone-style paver patio extends off the back of the home - plenty of room for seating, a fire pit area, and room to breathe. The two spaces feel connected but distinct, which is something we think about a lot when we're designing multi-level outdoor entertaining spaces. You want each zone to have its own purpose.

Between the two levels, we installed a sweeping curved pathway lined with stepping stones set into a gravel landscape bed. A natural rock water feature anchors the center of that lower landscape area, surrounded by evergreen plantings that will fill in beautifully over time. The whole design flows in a way that feels intentional - nothing looks dropped in or out of place.

This is the kind of work we genuinely love doing. When hardscape installation, landscape design, and thoughtful garden bed work all come together on one property, the result speaks for itself. The yard went from underutilized to the kind of space you actually want to spend time in.
