Sometimes the best thing you can do for a backyard is start over. That was the situation here - an older setup that had run its course, and a homeowner ready to get something built right this time.

We tore out the worn-out existing structure and got to work building a new paver patio with a solid retaining wall around the perimeter. The wall does two things: it holds the grade in place and gives the whole patio a clean, finished edge that ties into the home. That combination of function and form is what separates a well-built patio from one that just looks good on day one.

The paver pattern and color choice complement the brick exterior of the home nicely. That's not an accident. When we're laying out a patio, we're thinking about how it reads from the back door, how it sits against the house, and whether it looks like it belongs there. This one does.

Retaining walls take more thought than most people realize. The soil behind them pushes constantly, especially after rain. If the base and backfill aren't done correctly, the wall shifts over time. We build them to hold - not just to look good on day one.

A well-built paver patio adds real usable space to your home. No rotting boards, no cracking concrete - just a durable surface that handles Ohio weather and keeps looking good season after season.
